É com a Tropical Trails que vamos tentar a ascensão do Kilimanjaro. Não foi uma escolha fácil, já que há inúmeras a fazerem isto e, porque das opiniões que rececolhi (livros, foruns, net,...) são contraditórias. Optamos por esta, já que em todo o processo de pedido de dados foram os melhores, têm boas opiniões dos ex-clientes e são uma empresa com algum prestígio, ou seja, não é a mais barata, mas obedecem já a regras e dão-nos o mínimo de garantias. Wed 21^st JOMO KENYATTA AIRPORT – ARUSHA
0715hrs on arrival at Jomo Kenyatta airport you will be met by Impala shuttle representative and transferred to Arusha. Overnight at Karama Lodge. BB (1600m)

Thu 22^nd ARUSHA
Stay at leisure. Overnight at Karama Lodge. BB (1600m)

Fri 23^rd ARUSHA – MACHAME
Drive to Machame village. The trek begins from the gate winding up to the lush tropical forests and out into heather moorland. Overnight at Machame Camp. (3000m)

Sat 24^th MACHAME - SHIRA
Trek to Shira Plateau, walk/trek through the fine open moorlands. Overnight at Shira Cave. (3840m)

Sun 25^th SHIRA – BARRANCO CAMP
A long trek to Barranco. This camp lies in a sheltered area below the spectacular cliffs of the Breach wall. The Breach wall, the dome of Uhuru and the edge of the Heim Glacier dominate the head of the valley. Overnight at Barranco Camp. (3900m)

Mon 26^th BARRANCO CAMP - BARAFU
In the morning trek to Barafu. Huge glaciers and cliffs can be seen which mark this part of the mountain. Here is the last water point. Overnight Barafu Camp. (4600m)

Tue 27^th BARAFU – SUMMIT - MWEKA
At midnight the trek begins up to the final steep, screen section to reach Stella Point. Walk steadily up the ridge and around the crater to reach Uhuru peak at 5895m. From the summit the trek descends to overnight at Mweka Hut/High Camp. (3000m)

Wed 28^th MWEKA - ARUSHA
Covering the last section of the mountain, the trek continues down through the forests to the gate where your vehicle will be waiting to transport you back to Arusha. Overnight at Karama Lodge. BB (1600m)
